Presentation

A few years ago I was searching for how to display. I’ve not been searching for a frame; more a feeling, an extension of the photograph. Art matched with its surroundings. The organic, not demanding audience. The silver grain matched with wood grain and mineral grains.

The Photograph

The excited silver salts dance in the sunlight, the sun breathing life into a moment. The silver gelatin prints are part of the art. Photographed on film, processed and printed in the darkroom. The organic silver grain sets a warmth to time and place, becoming more in the space it occupies.

Wood And Stone

The materials in the presentation are sourced in the region where the photographs are taken.

Wood can take more than a year an inch to dry after being cut into slabs. Great care and detail goes into finding the right slabs, and in the correct process. The love and knowledge of wood and minerals brings the wood and stone slabs alive.

The wood grain and the mineral grains give a depth of texture: A connection to place and time, creating gravity to the artwork, growing roots in your space.

Forge

Hand forged brackets connects the photography to the slab bringing the artwork alive. Metal molded in fire, creating movement and feeling. The hand hammered brackets merge and stand in harmony with the presentation.
